Will She Always Be My Baby?

Still looking sleepy in the car.

Her classroom.

Waiting for the teacher, and peeking.

Ready to go!

Well the day is here, my "baby" is in first grade. It all began with a wake up from daddy, which was followed by a "but daddy, I don't want to wake up everyday for school....it's too early." Wow, if she only realized how many more years of waking up early there truly was ahead of her! She was excited, and quiet all at the same time. She mentioned that she was nervous too, something that I can remember from being a kid. We were there to walk her to her classroom and take many pictures. I did ask Matthew if we would be able to do the same thing in Jr. High, but I already knew the answer to that one. I managed to not shed a single tear, but that didn't mean that my eyes were totally dry.....yeah for sunglasses. Her teacher seems wonderful and knew who she was already (she said she studied the yearbook), which I thought was sweet. Then the teacher dismissed all us parents (if she hadn't who knows how long we would have stood there).......and Victoria turned around and asked for a goodbye kiss from both of us. Whoa, then it was really hard to contain those tears. Maybe she isn't too grown up after all, and she will ALWAYS be my baby.

11 Years Married!

Today we celebrate 11 years of marriage. It is hard to believe that it has been that long. It seems like only yesterday we were just kids ourselves, and now here we are with 3 of our own! Happy Anniversary Matthew, forever is too short a time to spend together.

To My Daughters

Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play. Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together. Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.

Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck and I will buy you one if he comes by. Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned. Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you trying to fix them.

Just for this afternoon, I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys. Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you. Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry. Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars. Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favorite TV shows. Just for this evening when I run my finger through your hair as you pray, I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given. I will think about the mothers And fathers who are searching for their missing children, the mothers and fathers who are visiting their children's graves instead of their bedrooms, and mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly, and screaming inside that they can't handle it anymore. And when I kiss you good night I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then, that I will thank God for you, and ask Him for nothing, except one more day.
(This was just another forward I got, but possibly one of the best!)

My Girls

Victoria is 6 years old and getting ready for 1st grade. She is a bit controlling, as all older siblings are, but she is also loving and sweet. She loves all things girly, and summertime when dresses can be worn daily. She talks my ear off constantly, life would be too quiet without her. She loves her family, and loves to be on the go even more. If it was up to her our days would consist of a park, the pool, going out to lunch, visiting someone, swinging by the beach, getting yogurt, going out to dinner, then maybe a movie. Being at home for too long drives her crazy, and mommy too! She loves vacations and cries when they are over (just like her daddy did when he was little). She is kind to her sisters (most of the time), and is a big help to mommy. She is funny and silly, smart and confident.

Julianna is 4 years old. She loves to wrestle with daddy and make Emma laugh. She loves Peter Pan and spends most of her days as him......"mommy, I am not Julianna, I am Peter!" She is not a big breakfast eater, unless it is a donut. She likes to play with daddy and hang on his back. She is a homebody, and would prefer to never leave the house. She hates showers and getting her hair brushed. She likes to play with dinosaurs and fake bugs, but will do it in her princess dress. She is shy and quiet until she knows you well enough. She is sensitive to reproach and can be brought to tears with a simple tone in your voice. She loves pretty flowers, and is always asking me if she can pick them.

Emma is 17 months. She is stubborn and fiesty. She has her sisters wrapped around her finger. She loves her paci, her raggy and her bottles. She likes to watch the slideshows on the computer, and she loves to dance. Emma hears the music everywhere we go. She likes her movies and will watch them entirely. She loves to eat and will snack all day long if allowed....it is what makes her the most happy. She adores her sissies and tries her best to keep up with them. Her blue eyes make me melt, and her giggles make me laugh. She is a handful and a blessing all at the same time!

Beach Fun

We went to the beach on Sunday and discovered that it actually is fun! I can count on one hand how many times we have been to the beach as a family....not very often. Even though we live in SD, we just never venture to the coast. We realized that we are not utilizing what most people come to SD to do.....just crazy. There really is no good excuse, maybe because we live so far inland....dunno? Anyways, the girls had fun and after an initial "whine time" from Emma she decided that the sand and water were okay. We have already made plans for another beach trip!!

She had sand in every crack and crevice

What an adorable 4 year old

Today You are 4

At 3 months

At 18 months
2 Years old
Happy 4th Birthday

Happy birthday to my Julianna, I can't believe that you are already 4 years old. You are funny and silly. You are quiet and shy. You love dinosaurs, dollies, flowers and Peter Pan. You don't like breakfast and could even skip lunch. You love doughnuts and candy, but not pizza or spaghetti. You can make Emma laugh harder than us all. You love to wrestle with daddy and jump on his back. You still love your "yaggy's", and you think it's so funny.

Happy Birthday Booga, I love you!

Abigail Isabella

I realize that this post is a little late, but here are a few shots of my new niece. I had fun taking these pictures. Babies are much easier to mold and place in the positions that you want :) She is a sweetie!
